Sukanya is from Chiangmai in the north of Thailand. She earned a BA in Thai Language and Literature at Prince of Songkra University and then an MA in Teaching Thai at Chiangmai University. She started her career teaching Thai at the Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna in Chiangmai, but for the past 15 years she has worked at one of Thailand’s leading IB World Schools as a teacher of Thai language and literature at many levels: MYP Language and Literature, MYP Language Acquisition, DP Literature, DP Language and Literature. She also ensures that her school’s Thai programme is compliant with Thai Ministry of Education expectations. She has also done professional development as a Google Educator, on brain research and she has trained to serve on international school accreditation teams. She balances her work with yoga and gardening and she continues to work on developing her fluency in French because she enjoys learning a foreign language.
A well, qualified IB Educator who is passionate about her work, during her years as an IB teacher she has done training on IB Language A, ATGL (Approaches to Learning), as well as professional development on Service Learning and Assessment and UK Child Safeguarding for Boarding Schools. She has also supervised IBMYP Personal Projects and IBDP Extended Essays on language usage in advertisements affect changing consumer attitudes, language usage in the woman fashion magazines, and women characters in the Thai Novel Khu Kham.
