Sagia was born and raised in the north of France in Seclin near Lille. She earned two Bachelor’s Degrees in French Literature and French as a Second Language at the Université d’Artois. She later earned a Master’s Degree in Comparative French Literature (Master 2 de Littérature française et comparée – Mention très bien) at the Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris. She moved to Austria where she has taught French both as a second language and as a mother tongue in a variety of schools in St Polten and VIenna, including IB World Schools where she has taught both IBMYP and IBDP Language A.
She has also supervised a number of Extended Essays in French language and literature: Le rap et le féminisme; Le privilège blanc: étude transversale Aimé Césaire/ James Baldwin; Violence rhétorique vs violence coloniale – discours sur le colonialisme ; la figure maternelle dans Promesse de l’aube de Romain Gary ; and Portraits de femme dans Femmes d’Alger dans leur appartement de Assia Djeba.
Sagia is also a poetry and performance author who has appeared in France, Tunisia and Algeria, and she has written articles on comparative literature reviews in books and journals. We are delighted to have Sagia on the ILLTC Team supporting our Literature A students.
