Lena is from Sweden and grew up in Stockholm, and in her early 20s she worked as an au pair in Geneva, and then as a student in Elsinore, Denmark where she studied at the Internationale Hojskole. She attended Lund University where she earned a BA, Joint Honours Degree in Swedish Language and Literature, and English Language and Literature. She then lived with her young family in Stockholm from where she moved to Bath in England. Since living in the UK she has taught Swedish at a number of schools including the European School in Oxfordshire, St. Clare’s College (an IB World School in Oxford), Oxford Brooke’s University. After training on the Graduate Teacher Training Programme she graduated as an English Teacher teaching English at a Comprehensive school in Cheshire for 10 years. 2014 she moved to London to teach Swedish at the International School of London where she has successfully taken many Swedish A students through the Language and Literature Programme.
As an experienced IB educator she has taught Swedish A Literature and Swedish Mother Tongue, working with the IBPYP, IBMYP and IBDP. She has participated in many IB workshops over the years, and she has held posts of responsibility as a Head of Languages at an IB World School, and Principal Examiner with the IBO.
