Elina grew up in Helsinki. A veritable polyglot, she studied at the University of Helsinki where she earned a BA in Finnish Language, Finnish Literature, French Translation and Interpretation, and English Literature; and later a MA in Finnish Language and Finnish Literature. She then earned a Teacher Qualification. After graduating she moved to London, where she has taught Finnish in an IB World school for the last 10 years. She has taught everything from both Finnish A and B teaching, and has taught children, teenagers and adults in numerous institutions both in Helsinki and in London, including the Finnish Saturday School in London and as a Finnish Lecturer at Morley College, London. As an IB teacher she has done IB Professional Development for IB PYP, MYP and DP. She has also attended and presented at several conferences on languages and international education.
Elina particularly enjoys teaching IB Language A Literature, as it combines her two passions: literature and interaction with students.
We are pleased to have Elina on our team to support our Finnish students.
