Milan is a native of Serbia where he was raised and educated. He earned his BA and MA from the Faculty of Philology, Serbian and South Slavic Studies, Belgrade, and a PhD at the same university. In addition to his university studies, he has undertaken a range IB and other teachers’ trainings as part of his professional development.
Milan’s professional career has taken him in several directions. He started working as an IBDP teacher in 2006, after which he continued his career pursuing a more academic path, at the Institute for Literature and Art, while continuing to offer SSST support for IBDP Serbian A students abroad.
When it comes to teaching in the IBDP, Milan has worked for almost 15 years in the program, assuming different roles and responsibilities: Serbian A, ToK, CAS, and Extended Essay coordination. Lastly, since 2020, Milan has been teaching IBDP History in Anatolia College, Thessaloniki, Greece. As a trained tutor for Serbian A SSST students, Milan has worked with more than 30 students all around Europe (England, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, FYR of Macedonia and Netherlands). He also worked as an IBDP Language A examiner for ten years. Currently, he is finishing his fourth year in Greece, and looking forward to the new teaching opportunities as an English A teacher with a UWC school.
Lastly, he spent extended periods of time in the UK, Russia, Japan, and France, studying languages and culture. Within his field of work, he has established professional collaboration with the Department for Russian and Slavonic Studies (University of Nottingham) where he was invited for several visits. He gained invaluable experience while writing and preparing for publication academic articles published in English.
