Prabha was born and raised in Calcutta, West Bengal in India. She completed her secondary education at Ballygunj Shiksa Sadan School, then attended universities locally where she studied History, Education, Political Science and Hindi, earning a BA from Loreto College and later a B Ed from St Xavier’s College. (She is currently pursuing an MA.) She began her teaching career at Queen of the Mission School in Calcutta where she taught Hindi to secondary school students, and then moved to New Delhi to teach Hindi to middle school students at Bluebells School International. During the millennium year she moved to Singapore where she had taught at the Global Indian International School-IB School, an IB World School, and she also teaches B. Ed Students on a range of teacher education topics including Curriculum and Instruction, Psychology of Development and Learning, Teacher and School, Understanding Education, and Teaching Hindi – Principle, History of Hindi Literature, Grammar and Evaluation at IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) in Singapore. As an IB Diploma educator, she has participated in professional development training in Beijing and New Delhi for CAS Coordinators, Hindi Language A (SL) as well as seminars on IB Bilingual Diplomas.
She is currently an IB Hindi Literature A teacher for UWCSEA . She has also supervised the following Extended Essays: 1. Premchand ki kahaniyon mein dikhaya jata hai ki kaise arthik vishamtaayen naitik bhrashtachar ko janm deti hai?; 2. Chayavaadi yug ke char kaviyon ne ki rudhiyon ke bandhan ko todkar mukti ki rah apnaayi hain?
3. Kya kabeer ji ke neeti parak dohe aaj ke adhunik samaj mein bhi mahatvapurna hain?
